Also i have found out i needed to update all emulators from within Retropie-setup. i seems the achievements normally only work with the latest versions of the emulators.

Still though, would have been nice for Citra to benefit from USB ROM transfer and stuff.

@mesprit It's just the way to make things easier. On barely every mashine BASIC will show Hello World with

      10 print "Hello World"

The CPU instructions for doing this are different so you might need a different BASIC interpreter for every "system".

But this is also very abstractive - but hope you get it.
Imho you can use a Pi0/1 image on a Pi2/3 revision but you will loose benefits for some optimized emulators. That's what @mitu said in his previous posting.

It depends on how is it connected to the Pi - if it's HDMI, you can get an HDMI splitter and connect both your TV and the screen at once.

@benret Raspbian Jessie is no longer supported - I think you get a nice message about that when you try to run the RetroPie-Setup script.

Installation on Buster hasn't been 100% vetted, but most bits should work - support for it will probably be part of the RetroPie release that supports the Pi4.

For now, using Raspbian Stretch will give you the best supported Raspbian version for RetroPie.

RetroPie though uses Raspbian Lite underneath, with very little changes added to the system. As far as wireless/networking goes, there's literally no change from a stock Raspbian Lite installation.

You can use the RetroArch network interface to send commands to RA through a script that's called when you press the button - http://docs.libretro.com/development/retroarch/network-control-interface/#enabling. It looks like the interface supports the 'Disk Next/Prev' commands so you can switch disks, but I don't see a command to get the current disk index. Maybe you parse the RA log to get the current disk index and determine if you need to go next/prev in the disk index list.

Hello, had a quick question, what is the best way to execute an OS command with this emulator? I have the following but it falls short of executing:

      OS.execute("bash", ["~/RetroPie/scripts/killgodot.sh"], true, output)

      the script contents are:

      ps -ef | awk '/godot-engine/ {print $2}' | xargs kill

it simple looks for the emulator in the process list and kills it, so I can switch games with it being a custom launcher.
Figuring this out would also help in launching games :)

      Thank you,

It's private. Thanks for asking btw :) Hopefully when it's FINSIHED (still testing, making tweeks, etc), I'll upload it. It's for now, just a RPI 3B attached to a Official 7" Screen. You could probably imagine it :)

@tjayhawk32 I don't think the order matters. The Pi has only 1 internal USB hub, any port would go over the same data path.

Can you give more details about your setup - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
Are the 2 controllers identical - same model - or different ? What controllers are you using ?

Glad you git it working. One minor niggle - rpi-update is no longer a recommended way to update your kernel/firmware, this is taken care by the normal OS/package updates. For the time when the problem was reported - immediately after the 3B+ launch - I think some improvements w.r.t the 3B+ model were added that were only available through the latest development kernel/firmware versions.
Anyway, keep an eye on the disk space and happy gaming!
